Historically, India has stood as a global beacon of scholarly enlightenment, boasting a magnificent intellectual heritage exemplified by revered centres of wisdom such as Nalanda, Takshashila, and Banaras Hindu University. These institutions nurtured critical thought, philosophical inquiry, and scientific temperament across generations.
It is an extraordinary honour to serve as the founding Vice Chancellor of Swami Shukdevanand University, Shahjahanpur—an institution that has evolved from a consortium of degree colleges into a full-fledged State University dedicated to academic distinction and institutional excellence.
The foundation of the University, formerly known as Mumukshu Shiksha Sankul (SS College, SS Law College, DSB Sanskrit College, SSMV and DSIC), was laid in 1964 by the visionary saint Late Swami Shukdevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj. Inspired by his vision of spiritual values, scientific thinking, and moral education, the institution has continuously expanded into a multidisciplinary centre of higher learning.
Today, we proudly carry forward that legacy with a lush green campus and more than 46 affiliated colleges, serving thousands of students while creating opportunities for academic excellence throughout the region.
As Vice Chancellor, my foremost commitment is to elevate this university to greater heights by promoting collaborative learning, academic innovation, research excellence, and holistic student development. Our mission is to cultivate intellectual curiosity, character, leadership, emotional resilience, and lifelong learning.
